Salvage 2015 370z NISMO?

Sup peeps, saw this gem on CL today, wanted some input. I was considering making a super low offer (5,000) on this Wrecked NISMO 370z. Here is the OG posting: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ctd/5658640989.html

Do you think it would be worth buying to fix up? Obviously it has and will have a salvage title but I think if I buy it for a low price and fix it up I could either sell the car for a good profit, or keep the car and drive it myself. I would obviously have it checked out to make sure the engine and everything are in good working condition and get an estimate on the damage repairs. KBB has this car at over 30k with a clean title so there could be lots of money to be made here. I do realize there are huge risk associated with buying a wrecked car.

Thoughts? Ideas? Input?

It is worse to try and a fix a car that has been hit from behind vs a front end collision! Parts car or make it a drift machine! or fix it up and keep but no way anyone is making money on that after all is said and done. IMHO! Maybe break even.

not worth it at all.... the buckled rear quarters is bad, i would wonder about frame damage

Its a no go, the guy thinks this wrecked car is made of gold or something. 14k is lowest he said he can go lmaoooo.

prob what he owes on it

magellster 07-14-2016 04:50 AM

He should have gone to driving school.

He would have to pay ME to take that wreck off his hands.

....No

That car is nothing but a parts car. Even if you parted it, at $5K, you might not break even.

No...

Never buy a Z with rear or side damage. Front is easy to replace and more repair friendly. But once that unibody is bent, that things toast or bent for good.

Even more so it has what looks like enough damage to the fender and total the front wheel. So suspension is probably shot, steering rack and shock supports are probably bent and if bad enough sub frame.

I doubt that thing will ever get a proper alignment in its life again.

But if you want a track car, that's one perfect candidate.

As someone whos building a wrecked Z.. I agree with above that's mostly a parts car. Sorry to say.

Edit: Yea you can even see the rear side panels have impact compressions, and the hatch is up, so the hatch pushed the roof forward. I doubt any part of that chassis is straight.

Oh yea you would, that one head light is easily $1k.. Motor and trans probably grab you close to $4-5k alone. Seats would easily grab you around $1,500 to $2k for the pair.

Steering wheel another $250, dash and carpets probably $300 or more if you include bags.

If you can sell the parts, that easily has at least $10k of parts. But how long it takes you to rid everything to make the $$ back. Weeks? Months? Couple years probably. :dunno:

But $14k aint happenin unless the stars align and you have a nismo parts crisis lol
