Nissan must really think their customers are nuts

Check out this option for the GT-R (even for Snap-On, this is a massive stretch):

Must be the GTR emblem

zakmartin 02-14-2018 03:34 PM

You mean that emblem made out of pure Adamantium?

Atreyu'z 350 02-14-2018 04:21 PM

Carlos Ghosn, tryna' make that dough.

With the R35 being a world product, Nissan has to try to compete with the likes of Porsche and Ferrari for boutique items. Have you seen what THAT **** costs?

dboyzalter 02-14-2018 06:11 PM

Douche bag car owners deserve douche bag tool kits.

Did I say that out loud.

jp08hr350 02-14-2018 06:52 PM

Maybe in 60 years from now, the kit will be worth tens of thousands as a collectors item to accompany a low mile classic. But for now, 12 bucks at Harbor Freight gets you the same damn thing.

dboyzalter 02-14-2018 06:56 PM

In 10 years it will be like the top secret oil cap cover people are selling for $350, and special people actually seem to buy.

iideadeyeii 02-15-2018 06:20 AM

I'm definitely going to buy this very expensive/impractical tool kit and hold on to it for 15 years to re-sell on ebay

I'm sure some idiot will buy them, then complain about footprints.

iideadeyeii 02-15-2018 08:49 AM

"Dealer-installed' Lmao

zakmartin 02-15-2018 09:28 AM

Nissan actually mentions the "Dealer-installed" nugget of goodness all over the accessory pop-up pages. They use double-asterisks to re-emphasize that the item is "[**] Dealer-installed" after they've already mentioned it on the same page. I suppose that's the bulk of the cost right there.

Funny you say that. When I had my Trailblazer SS, people wanted hundreds for the factory tow receiver cover. They're no longer made and supposedly pretty rare. Meh.

Y'all just need to have some perspective....

$125,000.

At least the tool kit is functional. Although no one will ever use it. "Hello, triple-A?"

'Nuff said.
