Can't hear turn signal!

I drive with the top down all the time. And occasionally I'll make one of those turns at a corner that doesn't bend 90 degrees. And sometimes I CAN'T HEAR THE SIGNAL relay clicking! So, you know, I'm driving down the road oblivious to my infinite turn -- It's embarrasing! Any ideas for me?

Get in the habbit of glancing down after you get done going thru a curve to make sure you blinker went off...

That is a very insightful suggestion Built2shredZ. I forgot however to mention that while having the top down, it is also often impossible to see the indicators during the day (I live in AZ where the sun is always shining very intensely :) )

So, is there any way to easily add some kind of audible enhancement? Is there such a thing?

Always glad to help :)

No modification I know of...

My turn signal clicker does the same thing (it will actually stop making the click noise). After you restart the car it usually returns to normal.

I indicate before I turn and usually intentally cut it off when my hand pass the (stalk, lever, whatever its called) while I am turning.

You're kidding of course! I mean, if cancelling the signal manually every time were any kind of solution, I might as well just get into the habit of using hand signals! (my goal is to enhance the technology already there, rather than give in to its shortcomings). Any actual ideas?

This must be a common problem with our cars because every once in awhile my blinker sound goes out too.

I checked mine and it turns off within a 1/4 turn. And I don't think that its an actual flasher making the noise.

Buy a nice set of white gloves. :icon38:

I have the same problem. I'll be driving and just realize "oh **** my blinkers been on for thel last few exits"

Set your turn signal to make a left or right turn. Turn on the key but do not start the engine. You hear the initial beep. After the beep you hear the “flasher”. So why does the “flasher” flicker silent when the beep is on?

I recommend you take it in if the technology is not working in your car. Maybe it’s a faulty signal stalk because mine cuts off with no problems.

I usually have my music up too loud to hear it anyway. I just got in the habit of glancing down. It's an easy habit to get into and takes hardly any time at all.

Glancing down works for me at night -- but it in the day (here in Arizona) I can usually not see the indicators flashing (sun is way too bright with the top down).

However, I think I may have found a solution! I hope I can find one of these that will fit the Z:

The Z doesn't use a traditional relay like a normal car. The click is actually produced by a small speaker.

I noticed that when I went to the wiring schematic---Guess have to up grade to a amp and JL Audio

Wire in a 12v 95db backup alarm. You wont ever forget again.

Thanks - that's a great clue.

Now we're getting somewhere! LOL!

And I'm serious: Can anyone give me an idea where this thing is located? I want to amplify it...
