roadster trunk won't open

We are working on a roadster and we can't get the trunk to open. We don't have the key fob, only a valet key. the rear latch release is not working

any insight on how to open the trunk?

Open the storage bin behind passenger seat. Pull the latch in the bin. It'll open the trunk.

This is in the owner's manual.

The car had a front clip put on due to a collision. Any more help is appreciated

A little more detailed explanation of how to open the trunk from the inside of the cabin.

The hidden handle in the glove box activates the trunk release by a cable. No electronics at all

Hi, after so many years, I am facing exactly the same problem at the moment. Could you tell how did you get the problem solved brother?

It was answered in the subsequent posts. There's a plastic cover in the compartment behind the seat. Pull that off and there's a manual release handle that you pull.

Thanks, man. Could you give any advice on how to fix the electrics part? Not to go to the back of the seat and pull the thing every time, you know. I would appreciate the help as nobody in my country knows that, apparently.

It could be any number of things. Start with some basic electrical troubleshooting to make sure power and grounds are supplied at the appropriate connections.

I have attached the relevant portion of the BL section of the FSM for you. Good luck!
