I'm on my third stock head unit..CD issues
 

Have'nt posted in a while but still enjoy reading. I burn my own CD's and have had problems with the head unit ejecting them. After about a year or so (I have an '03 Performance 15,000 miles..not a daily driver), it will make a clicking sound but won't spit out the disc. Will still play if you don't mind listeneng to the same thing forever. I use good quality CD's but the service manager says they've had problems. I have an extended warranty but thay might give me some attitude next time. Has anyone else had this problem? Any comments??

Is that for the cd changer or the single player?

are you pasting labels on them? A number of manufacturers void the warrantee if you have labels on. The heat melts the glue and causes any number of problems.

If no label, forget I said anything... lol

My 04 Touring Bose has always skipped and acted weird when I try to play burned CD's in it. I just assumed this system wasn't MP3 compatible and don't play them in it (I've had other vehicles that did the same thing...and some that don't).

....However I do have the annoying, known shorting issue...sometimes when I make a quick right turn the left speakers go out. I have to smack on the drivers side knee pad to get it to come back on again :icon14: Since I'm out of warranty I'm living with both issues until I can get an aftermarket system instead.

My unit is just the single player, not a cd changer. When I bought the car in '03 the guy said the head unit was made by Clarion. Don't know if that's true. I don't use labels just magic marker. I might look into the ipod/adapter thing. I also like Cannucks.........
