No, and its not something that you would remove on a daily basis (although you could)
Getting the front of the top to fit snug and nice is kinda a pita, but then again, that was the first time we put the top on, after the rubber seals break in it should go in easier.
But yes there actually IS a rear window now!!

That's a bummer. You gotta be really careful about weather conditions and you have to be very aware of where you'll be during the day then.

Yeah, but most people will retain the factory top, so they can always put that back up.
This one was designed to use mounts located on the factory top.
To remove the oem top and get this one to work you need to cut off 2 tabs from the oem top and bolt them back onto the car.

Looks good I like that. Especially how it doesn't interfere with the Z's lines.

It should be pretty common sense to you why people would want to keep both tops...jesus. I don't even have a convertible and understand this.

Another retarded response to a seemingly innocent question. Either answer it or go fuck right off. This is the weakest flame attempt I've seen to date in this section. It was a simple question.

Very slick looking top, especially on the OP's red car, but I have to wonder what's going on with the rear weatherstripping between the top and the body. One of my other cars is a '92 Alfa Romeo Spider, and the factory hardtop is tight as a drum. Almost hard to believe an Italian car could be both air- and water-tight, but I think you'd have to expect it with a Z. No slam against those who bought this top, but did anyone contact Smoothline about the rear weatherstripping?

The answer as to why you would want two tops is if you take the hard top off on a nice day and go somewhere and it starts to rain or you need to run into a store and do not want to leave your car wide open like that you can then fold the rag top back up to protect the interior/belongings.

Thank you good sir. I would imagine that said soft top was kinda damaged some how? That's the only reason I can think to keep the soft and then install the hard.

That question is like getting a ride from a friend then asking him/her why they have a car. Or asking someone why they need turbos when they are choosing what size turbo to get. It's really broad open ended question that is besides the point (of the topic).
There are too many various reasons to get it to start a discussion about in this thread. The other threads people (my self included) stated various reasons why they want the top, or don't want it.
You saw one answer, there are other answers in the other smoothline threads.

Rear weather stripping? Along the body or the window? Because the window you have to diy silicon adhesive seal it.
The car is definitely tight. I haven't tightened it down all the way and it gets stuffy quick (if you dont have a/c running).

No, not around the window. Between the body and top there's a pic showing light leaks, which of course mean water leaks. Do those get sealed when the top is fully tightened to the body?
