Default New Owner working through some kinks

I have read the MPG posts. I wish I was getting 14-17 mpg.
Instead I'm getteng 11 city.

2006 350z enth. Convert.
AFE COI
No other mods
Slim 18" rims

I did all the resets that I found on the site ECU, idle, TBP. I just got plugs and a coil pack was bad I had a P0300 light I believe, the misfire code.

I am not sure what I should do next. Any ideas besides drive like an old lady on Sunday?

Thanks

Are you looking at the MPG displayed on the gauge, or are you actually calculating it by dividing the miles driven by the number of gallons used? The gauge shows a value that's actually a rolling average, and if you look at it over a short term, it may not reflect an accurate value. Reset it, drive through an entire tank of gas, and compare it to a number you've calculated.

The main thing that affects mpg, is your right foot

Thanks Dean that was very useful. I did reset but didn't roll through a tank. I'm used to my S2000 that I redline regularly. I'm now looking at a 3k rpm shift point another poster recommended.
Thanks again

VQ's don't get that great of mileage, 11 Isn't too far off, I get about 13 in my G, tire pressure ok? Honestly mpg' s are 90% controlled by the driver

like i and mignav said, it is how you drive

I'd sell my brother for an ls7 though. Who cares about gas mileage with that. Btw if you couldn't tell, You drive my dream car

Not a fan of the color tbh, but it's still badass. But i got a ride in one awhile ago and since then... If only an ls7 wasn't so damn expensive, I'd throw one in my car in an instant. Have you had the heads addressed? (Sorry for going OT)

Default Aerodynamic rims, may help

Drove some freeway miles and logged 18 mpg. That's cool, but the rims, they will do the trick
