Finally A Use for Nissan's Brake Dust

I have a Daytona Blue Roadster with the black panel surrounding my radio. Some how a small spot on the plastic panel on top of my radio below the Nav door got rubbed off and was grey. I looked around for maybe some plastic paint and didn't find any. I also figured that if I used paint that it wouldn't look right. I then noticed the brake dust on the inside of my rim looked like a pretty good match. I dabbed a little on the tip of my finger then rubbed it on the grey spot. After 2 applications it blends in pretty good and you have to look hard to tell its there. I didn't know that plastic panel was painted.

That's not brake dust!! That's Nissan's new interior plastic touch up paint. Make sure you send them payment for your use of their product!

Nissan's New Powder Coating

We can all collect our brake dust and market it as a new powder coating material. I wish a larger spot would have rubbed off where I could take it to the dealer and see if I could get a new panel. It was a real small spot but I am a detail oriented person and like to keep everything down to the smallest detail looking as good as possible. I think the dust is better than any paint that I could have bought and the dust was free.

Submit this to "Hints from Heloise" and maybe she'll send you a copy of her new book.
