Who's Seeing High Temp/Low Power Issues?
Just curious how many of you are seeing the high tempature/low power issue reported by some on the 370's?
If you have or did at one time and resloved it by installing the oil cooler recommended by Nissan, please advise if this fixed the issue. |
Yes, an oil cooler fixes the problem. Back in 2006, Nissan stopped installing oil coolers on the Z. The VQ37VHR has oil temp issues, which Nissan recognized by utilizing oil temp gauge and over temp protection of the engine. Unless you track the car, it's not normally a problem.

call nissan usa and complain. maybe they'll install the oil cooler for free.

They've already said no that that idea. About all they've done is acknowledge the issue, and suggest that people who do have the problem install a Nismo oil cooler.

The guys I know around here have only seen the problem in extreme conditions, ie. on the track or high speed highway driving in hot LA weather. When the oil temps climb, they just back off a little to let the temp drop. The guys who track the cars have added oil coolers and the problem goes away.
