High pitch noise coming from passenger side
I picked up a new 370z for my fiancé as a wedding gift and the car has 200 miles on it. Now when the car is on and you are idle you can't hear it, but if you are driving or if you just rev it up in neutral you hear this high pitch noise. It sounds like a dog whistle and it gives us a painful headache every time we drive the car. We have already turned off all radio, navigation, etc and it still happens. We put our ears to the speakers and it is not coming from them, but from the electronics under the glove box. I took it into Nissan and they are at a complete loss as to what it is or how to fix it. A Nissan guy has flew in and he has no idea either and have never heard of this. Their solution is 'turn the radio up' but that’s ********, I didn't spend $40k on a car to have to crank the radio up to hide a high pitch noise.
Has anyone had this or heard of this? We are meeting with an attorney to discuss suing Nissan over this since we cannot drive the car; it’s a very high pitch brain splitting noise. We have it documented by multiple service guys and the Nissan guy who flew in.

I work in the legal field and I already contacted one of my clients, they are one of the largest lemon law firms in CA. I am sending them my workorders today and they will handle it from there.

Abstract thought. But what about the fuel pump? They can be extremely shrill if they're playing up, to the point of hurting your ears to be the car. Just a thought as had this a few years or so back with my 350. Worth a thought anyway.

I had a noise like that on my 350. Believe it or not, it was coming from the throttle body. Nissan replaced it and the noise went away. The noise reminded me of a stereo system not grounded correctly.

When I first purchased my 350z I had a weird issue like yours.
I would hear a lot of high pitch noises from the passenger side, especially when I took turns a little too fast. At first I thought it was the A/C whine, turned out it was the GF Whining.
Jk. Best of luck.
Hope the GF doesn't see this post.

I have an 09 370z and I noticed the same exact noise from the passenger side as well. It sounds almost like a capacitor charging up. It's a high pitched whine that dies down quickly. I've noticed that it is most apparent when accelerating from a full stop. That said, it could be nearly any component within the engine, transmission, electronics (to include sound system) or even related to the motor/electronics that operate the passenger side power windows. I've learned to live with it since the Z is an otherwise outstanding sports car. Hope Nissan can fix your problem.

I hear that noise when the ignition is on and the car is not running, and it is definitely coming from the TB. I also have a high idle which throws a SES light although the only code that comes up is "High Idle Detected". Like duh!! Think my TB is shot? Car runs great other than that and fuel mileage has not dropped a bit so I have just been putting up the light and idling around 1000 RPM.

it is a known issue with the 370z and the g37 it is the ecu, nissan is currently trying to resolve the issue they are well aware as many people have complained and filed complaints the best bet is to contact nissan corporate and file a complaint so that they know you are interested in a solution. but i repeat it is the ecu as far as the guys on the 370z boards and g37 boards have deduced and that is what nissan is also saying it is.

I have a 2007 350Z and once in a while when I get in the car and start it up I can hear this high pitched noise. It sounds like it is coming from the back but it could be echoing as well. It is high pitched like a dog whistle. I just figured it was something warming up every so often since it is not all the time and it does go away. I am interested to hear if there is a solution.
