Can't get the car to start.. consistantly blowing fuse
Ok so I'm really starting to get pissed off. I just had a stereo system installed and now the car won't start. It keeps blowing the Ing/eng Ecc Fuse on the hidden fuse panel behind the battery. Has anyone ever had this problem or have any clue what I can do. I am planning on bringing back to the place i went to to have them fix it becasue it obviously has to do with something they did. But its just a pain because i have to tow the car there.

If you absolutely have not touched anything, make them pay for the repairs/tow bill.
Yea, i haven't touched their work. They know this was happening because an hour after i brought it home it wouldn't start and i called them and the came and found the blown fuse. It ran and then today i went to start it and not working again. This crap is so damn frustrating

Have you tried running it with the sound system unhooked?
Im not too experienced with the electrical aspect but do you think maybe there could be an ungrounded wire touching metal every time you crank over?
Does it happen immediately when you turn the key to ACC mode or just when you crank it? |
there has to be a short somewhere
Out of curiosity who did the work?
thats problem number one imo audio shops charge top dollar for crap work not all of them but a lot do and they never assume blame. Research, research and research, do it yourself.
Need pics of your battery area please.. Take cover off.... I need to see what fuse they are running.

lol savage did my tint and my taillights lol they tinted a fly in my window
they're savages what did you expect?
Have you checked the battery? What system are you running? I would swap that battery for something like an optima, odyssey, kinetik, etc..., since you got a sound system.
so quick update.. i brought it back to the place this morning and they just called me saying they found the problem... and turns out nothing to really do with the system just a very bad coincidence. The wire for the MAF got caught under my strut bar and rubbed to the bare wire and was causing the problem.:icon22:

sure says the guys who cant even tint windows right
haha very true very true.. maybe he just covering himself. as long as i get my car back and it works i'll be happy
Tell them savages to show you how in the world the maf can reach under the strut bar. I know mine doesn't. Secondly who the **** was messing with your strut bar??

+1 Or did you have you MAF moved? If not, they're bs'ing you. A MAF sensor in the oem location is not under the strut bar. It would only be different if you had a different intake system which relocates the sensor. |
