need help from the car audio guru's

hey how are you guys doing. need alittle help with my subs and my amp. I have 2 rf he2 10inch DVC 4ohm subs and a soundstream xta600.2 amp. I have been reading that with 2 4ohm subs that a 1 ohm amp is the best or somehting of that nature? Well the amp runs at 4 ohms when it is bridged which is what I was planning on doing. I was wondering if this wuold be a problem or if it woul dbe better to run it at 2 ohms? kinda wish I bought a 1ohm monoblock amp but since this is what I Am working with I Would like some advice. Another thing what is the general opinon on the soundstream xta600? just incase anyone has used it before. Thx for any help guys.

another thing, it says that it is unstable at 1 ohm... but I have heard that some amps will run at 1ohm without a problem even though it says unstable... how would I wire it to 1ohm anyways...? thx

okay.... soo then which way should I wire it....?

THEDUKE Jul 20, 2005 06:14 AM

First you need to wire each sub in series. This will make each sub 8ohm. After you do that you will wire both subs in parallel with each other, this wil give you a 4ohm load. The amp you are looking at is a two channel amp that you will need to bridge. When you bridge that amp the lowest you can go is 4ohm which is right were you will be at. This will give you the most out of that amp without running into problems.

come on guys... just need alittle explaination about what the hell ohms are

jpm_fan Jul 20, 2005 03:20 PM

No offense intended, but have you heard of google? I went to google.com, typed in ohms and got this link titled "How stuff works "What are amps, watts, volts and ohms"". http://science.howstuffworks.com/question501.htm

Instead of *****in' because people won't respond, take a second to try and find the answer yourself. The internet is full of information.

im sorry that I wanted to use the available resource of the forum for me. I know there are people that know this off the back of thier hand so I just wanted a simple explanation. didnt wanna rummage through the a whole bunch of websites that will probably explain stuff in ways that IW ont understand anyways. Thx for being a jerk.
