speaker connectors for power wire?
this may be a silly ques, but can you use gold-plated speaker connectors to feed power wire to an amp?

Sure why not?
As long as the connector matches the diameter of the wire - don't connect a 18-22 gauge connector onto the end of 4 gauge wire. |
I'm actually trying to do something similar in my set-up...I have a 4awg power wire to feed my amp, but won't seem to fit the terminal. The amp only accepts 8awg wire or lesser widths apparently, but is fully capable of handling power from a 4awg...so I'm thinking about splicing the power wire right before the amp and placing lesser gauge, gold-plated speaker connectors on each end--this is the only way I see it to fit...Can this work? The terminal on the amp is set-up like the crimpless ring terminals- it has a hex screw you use to hold the wire in place. Please help!!
