I have an FM transmitter, but I was wanting something with a little better sound quality.
I've been told this works on the base unit...I know it works on the Bose. Makes sense...as they're both made by Clarion. Check it out:

Just ordered mine yesterday for my '03 bose head.

Mine's not quite as impressive as the others on this thread- I bought a dual AUX line input adaptor and have an eighth inch cable running along the center consloe.

With a direct connection via an aux. input, you only really lose whatever quality you lost in your MP3 conversion., for the most part. For instance, most people tend to convert at a sampling rate of 128 kbps. I personally can't stand that. Music sounds tinny and boomy when converted at 128kbps. I convert all my cds at 256kbps....sure, it takes up a lot more space, but the difference between a 256kbps MP3 and a CD track is not noticable to 99% of the population.

Some MP3 players create a little 'noise,' but the iPod isn't one of them. I've done many tests w/ my iPod connected to my home stereo via RCA cables compared to the original track on a cd, and there's really no difference. I can maybe hear a little difference, but I'm also an **** mother f-er when it comes to music and audio equipment in general.

Bottom line....the iPod or any other MP3 player is a GREAT way to take your whole collection with you in the Z all the time without a huge book of cds.

no it's not supposed to do that at all adn you will be sorely disappointed in the KCA-iP500...not only is it slow and practically impossible to navigate, but it won't list the songs on a particular folder...remember, it connects to your CD Changer input...that input was probably never built with all the functionality an iPod can provide...it can onlly give you basica things like the name of the song playing and CD text and it DEFINITELY will not play the video off a video ipod...you would need to hook up an iPod adapter that would go into the video in of the HU and set the iPod manually to video out
