Will the 2004 stock stereo play mp3's?

Hello there,

I am waiting for my 2004 350z roadster to be delivered next week and was wondering if the stereo will play mp3 disks? I believe that i have the stereo with the 6 disk and cassette player.

Thanks for the help.
David

Nope....

I suggest just going ahead and replacing it when you get the car as it is IMO the weakest aspect of the Z...although the front speakers are not too bad

Odd.

No, it does not. Replace it. Stock speakers sound much better with an a/m head unit anyway, slightly more RMS and a better sound processor.

So, say i don't care about the stereo so much, like the stock look, don't want to spend much, what's a good a/m that will play mp3's?

You have a lot of options. I would check out reviews at crutchfield, sort by price lowest to highest. It won't be hard since you are not picky about features. Don't forget to hook your antenna amp into the power antenna wire when you replace your head unit or you will get little to no FM reception.

Thanks for the Crutchfield info, i didn't know about them. I'm assuming it would be a double din unit. Looks like $100 - $200 is the cheapest bet.

The antenna amp? Do you just mean the aerial/antenna on the car?
