Alpine iPersonalize Time Correction, etc...??

Just had the Alpine IVA-D310 put in today and I was reading about the time conversion abilities for the speakers through the iPersonalize website. Does anyone know the figures for time correction on the Z's speakers?

2004 touring (bose) preferably...even though I dont think the speaker positions have changed by year or model

play with the settings. Tune the system to your ears ... after all.. you are the one listening :)

that said, I had mine set to the second to shortest time delay setting on my 7995 a few years ago in my Z

The time correction is the distance from the speaker to the drivers listing position that is measured in miliseconds. It is very simple, just take a tape measure and measure the distance from each speaker to the drivers seat at ear level. You can also input these measurement into the head just as easly as doing it from the website. The head unit will calculate the ms for each speaker from the measurement you inputed. The unit can be inputed as MS or Inch. If you need more help let me know, and i can get the measurement i inputed into mine.
I have the IVA-D310, PXA-H701 units and the sounds is awesome.

ive got the iva d310 too, do you know the measurements james cuz that would be awesome if i dont have to actually measure it all out since you've got it done...

Dream 04-15-2006 12:54 PM

I set mine. Give me a bit and I'll post. You'll probably have to adjust yours. I didn't try very hard to get accurate measurements.

Bigmikeny21 04-15-2006 02:34 PM

cool man I appreciate it...Im surprised no one has put the time in to do a good measurement job for this...everyone on this forum knows every square inch of this car...or in this case distances in inches from speaker to ear...lol

Subscribing to this thread as been wondering what settings were used for this feature for Alpine HU.

Hi guys, Sorry i havent been online. I still havent re-done my measurements for the TC. My unlce was taken to ER over this Easter Holiday, so didnt get to play with my Z much, just wash it. Plus i have to take it into the dealer in the morning monday. As soon as i get a moment, i will get this done.

I have my TC setting set so sound like its coming from the deck... Pretty neat... Lets see... I dont remember what my settings were before but I have pods now so it might not work... If anyone is interested I can post my settings...

Endless Shock 04-16-2006 08:05 PM

Actually this is what my friend and I did... Oh yeah I have the 9855...
First we tuned the fronts... To do this we turned the rears all the way down... Then do the same for the rears...

So my setting are as follows:
FL 52.00cm
FR 10.20cm
RL 52.00cm
RR 10.20cm
SW L/R 0.00cm

I know it doesnt seem right by looking at the numbers but the sound is exactly what I want... Hope that helps...

I think you have some phase issues....

Yeah those numbers look wrong. Did you take the measurements from the center of the cab area or the drivers seat? The measurement from FR should be longer then FL, same with RR longer then RL. The FR & RR speakers are farther away from the drivers ears then the FL & RL

Ill try todo mine tonight and get those numbers for you guys

james840a 04-17-2006 07:20 PM

Ok guys, this is what i came up with
FL 1.6ms FR 0ms

RL 2.1ms RR 1ms

the closer the speaker are to the listener the larger number of ms.

Beer Goggles 04-17-2006 07:24 PM

That sounds about right. I haven't checked mine since they got reset from the Turbo install, but the ones James had is about what I remember. The trick thing is measuring to what point in the front. I went in between the tweeters and the doors.

If you have TC and don't use it you should it really makes a pretty big difference. We can start talking about bass focus too.

james840a 04-17-2006 07:33 PM

i took the measurement from the lower speaker, and then one from the tweeters, and divid by 2. That gave me the measurement between the door and tweets.
