FYI: Pioneer Avic-Z1 pretty much no longer available
Some of you may already have noticed, some may not...but due to the fact that pioneer is pretty much out of Z1s, the Z1 will be unavailable until the Z2 is released, whcih may not be until march or april (god hopes sooner)
so if any of you are looking forward to getting on within the next few months, try to find one ASAP...
even now they are very hard to find, every authorized source retail or online (crutchfield), is out is most likely will not be getting anymore...
so expect to pay more, and quite a bit more even for online Z1s...i wouldnt be suprised that in a few weeks, they will go for well over 2k on ebay...
just a heads up to you guys even i had to pay way over dealer cost for one just recently...
so if you wanna stay below 2k, get it now, or may have to pay 2.5k or something in the near future..
a very strange situation indeed...
b
p.s. i cant be sure but i believe the D2 is in the same situation

Wow ... Bing you are right. I can't even get one ... and that is never the case. I'll have my hands on the Z2 in less than 2 months "apparently".
I am actually switching out to a 880PRS for a new 3-way front setup, so no worries ... I'll just be lost a lot! ha

Refurb = return to store/reseller from customer with "problems" ...basically someone didn't want it and says it doesnt work. So they cannot sell it as an open box buy, rather they return it to a manufacturer.
The AVIC line is very reliable.
SQ is okay ... very little control, eq, etc ... but a simple DEQ or something can make everything just fine.

Yeah pioneer is actually being smart this year and cutting production before ces so they do not get stuck with a bunch of z1's that they then have to cut cost on to sell to the dealers.
I know we are pretty much out of new ones nation wide at tweeter and the D2's are starting to wear thin as well.

The AVIC line does not carry the same markup that other HUs and accessories do.
