Sorry I was going by my year Z which is 05. The 03-04 is still pink wire at the BCM, but it is on the brown plug pin 76. To make sure use a DMM

i also heard the 8019 will have 5.1 sound as opposed to the 7100? however, that only comes in effect when watching movies right?

The 8019 will no longer have 5.1 DSP processing the way the 8017 had. The reason for this is 99% of the time 5.1 is not used in the car environment and it lowers the cost of the unit which is what the consumer is looking for.

For the rear camera, how can I use it without connecting it to the reverse wire? Does it need ground or power?

Well I just finished wiring it up. Not so good so far. There is no function on the touchscreen and after I pressed eject, I cannot get the screen to close now. I have reset the unit 3 times now and nothing new happens.

Please check the install and make sure there is nothing rubbing or the unit is not too tight in the location. And try doing a hard re-set. Unplug the unit from the back and wait about 60 seconds.

I did that, and it worked. But every single time that I push the eject button, for some reason there is no way to get it to close. I push the eject button to try to close it and nothing happens. No noises, nothing. It will play the disc fine.

Also, when this happens, none of the touchscreen functions work. I can only use the unit with the remote.

It was all done at the same time. Camera is on there, but not sure what you mean by garage door opener.

It will only work with the 4th generation Ipods using the KCA-IP500, which is the old style interface. It will not work with the new USB style connection.

Well I called Kenwood tech support and got to sit on hold. No one ever answered. Guess I'll try calling again tomorrow.

Any insight on my issue DUKE?

Also I'm trying to figure out how to display nav or ipod or radio on the av-out.
