So far everything works properly. Got the 7100 hooked up with rear camera, bluetooth, XM, ipod, kcas-220a, and farenheit.

I am disappointed that the only things you can watch on the Farenheit are the dvd and rear camera. I really thought that I would be able to have the nav or tuner/cd/ipod screen up on it. Kinda wasted my time with it IMO.

What was the result of this. How did it get fixed?
Was it mounting? wiring? Adjustment? Reset?

I think you should read this tread. All navigation units use GPS, the difference is the hardware and software they use.

I would also be curious to hear how your issue was resolved.

It was a simple master reset.

Any info on the GXM30 install? I put it in, but the unit doesn't recognize that it's there or any SAT unit.

Hey Tech, have you been able to figure out how to set the time on the GPS. The GPS clock seems to differ from the actual time in the audio screen. I was able to set the audio time with no problem but cant figure out for the life of me how to change the GPS clock. I went through the GPS menus and found the general gps info and the date is correct but the time is off an hour. So when i set routes it shows the arrival time an hour behind. And the daylight savings option is set to auto if that makes a difference......

I've spent over a week diagnosing this problem, and finally have diagnosed the issue.

As you may or may not know, with the GXM30 (as opposed to the standard XM antenna) the headunit itself will not recognize a SAT input from the source selection screen. The only place you'll see it is through the Nav portion. If you go to the XM Music Player section through the Nav "Tools" menu, you'll be able to get some information about the radio id, your subscription status, and all that.

I was initially able to get nav traffic, weather, and stock data working, but music wouldn't play. Finally I found the 'Navigation Line In' setting in the 'Audio Setup' menu, enabled that, and changed the audio source to 'Navigation'. Since then, music has been fine.

Hope this helps, I've been trying to get to know this unit, there sure is a lot to it.

You probably have the wrong time zone set.

For me on the east coast, I had to manually enable daylight savings time. Obviously the unit is still operating on the old daylight savings time rules. Also be sure to set your timezone correctly, mine I believe was set to Pacific by default.

That is correct, it is set up for the old savings time rule. Since this year it was changed, you must change it manually.

No problem. I'm thinking I'm going to post a more formal review of the unit as well. I really like it, but it does have its quirks. I can definitely say it's *way* better than the AVIC-D3 and the IVA-W200 (the two other units I was considering). The only feature I wish it had was the dash lighting control that the AVIC-D3 has. Matching the amber lighting would've been cool.

Question for those of you with the GXM30:

Where are you mounting the antenna? Any pics of it installed?

I'll post some pics this weekend. I have it on the rear strut bar.

Make note of my post earlier about how the XM Radio functions with it. It definitely works, but I'm thinking that in retrospect the move would've been to bag the NavTraffic/Weather/Stocks/etc and just use the standard XM adapter.
