2-way or 3-way Infinity Kappa's in the door?

Which coaxial should I go with in the door....the 2-way or 3-way Infinity Kappa, and why?

Thanks for your insight.

Neither!! I went with the Kappa 6.5 separates up front so I could put the Kappa tweeter in the stock tweeter location. I did use the triaxial kappa's in the back. It sounds great. Either way you go, the Kappa's sound really good.

Do you mean the 60.5 separates? If not, can you please tell us the exact model# or post the URL from crutchfield? Thanks.

Crutchfield is a bit pricey. Go to www.sounddomain.com for good deals :D

Ok, I'm not looking to put a component set up front.....I'll be using deck power (Alpine 7893) and want to keep everything looking stock. So, back to my original question....2-way or 3-way in the doors?

Thanks :)

Put 3-way in the doors, and 2-way in the rears.

Isn't it possible to replace the stock tweeters and keep it looking stock? I was hoping to get a component set like maybe Infinity 6000cs or better yet Kappa 60.5CS, and put the woofer in the door and swap the stock tweeter. Do you think this is possible, or is the stock tweeter some weird size that would not allow an aftermarket replacement?

I thought having the tweeter up near ear level would give clearer highs than having them muffled by seats, etc. from the door location.

Ok....I went and finally got to listen to the 2-way and 3-way KAPPA's today, and the 3-way's are WAY TOO BRIGHT! Now, I'm a guy that likes his share of treble, but this is too much. I'll be going with a set of 2-way's in the front and rear.

Thanks for the insight.

Easy to install?

Like many of you, I too am disappointed in the sound in my Z. I like the idea of replacing the door and rear speakers. Is it easy to install new speakers or do you really need to know what you're doing? I'm worried that if I start taking things apart that when they're back together I'll get rattles. Also, I don't have a lot of money to spend, is replacing the speakers only going to improve the sound enough to make it bearable?

Thanks!
Michael
