Need some ideas on a box for 2 12's

Just wonderin if anyone has any ideas on where and how to put 2 12's.. i have a few ideas, but was wondering if anybody else has any sweet ideas, the subs need 1 cubic foot each.........

Several ideas are:
In spare tire well
Under strut brace
Between strut brace and seats
in the back corners of the trunk/hatch area
in stock bose location and behind passanger seat (aka - stock bose copied).

The real answer is how showy you want, how much space you are willing to sacrifice, and how simple you want it.

The box I had in my car... that I'm selling now... has one 10w7... and it's louder than 2 12's when u turn it up. It's in a custom box under the strut. I have seen some in the same place with two 12's also.

such a small car, so much bass, whats the point? so people outside can hear your 12" subs?

I dont mean to come off mean I really just dont understand how a car with so little interior space needs 2 12 subs for you to hear them properly...

Id think a single 10, or even 8 done with high quality peices would sound better, and be plenty loud. not to mention fit nicely in the stock bose location

The point would be to compete is spl comps around here, something i enjoy to do, and i already have the 12's so why spend money on something else. It doesn't matter how big the sub is, people around are still gonna here it, hell u can hear the factory stereo if it's turned up enough, and i can't imagine the stock location being to great for sound

well stock location does give you the optional massage seat...:p

didnt know they did stuff like that. thanks for the info.

Unless you want to give up all the trunk space...two 12s are not going to do what you want in there. Especially for SPL. which MOST(but not all) of the time requires a large box.

I originally planned on 2 12s (TC Sounds HE12s) as well, but I dont think that I will be able to do it. Right now I have sold both of them and will most likely go with 2 Audiomobile MASS 10s in a glassed box behind the STB. I will post some sketches for you later when I get a chance.

- ps - what subs do you plan on using?

i am doing two 12s in the back corners
a lot tougher than i expected but its coming along

DrewBert Jul 13, 2003 09:32 PM

the set up i am goin with has the 2 audiobahn aw1200q's, running off a audiobahn 2x400hq rack mount amp, the amp is mounted between the 2 seats, where the storage boxes were, and the subs are in front of the STB,with the box goin under the STB also,
it's made of 3/4 and fiberglass, it's my 1st time fiberglassing so it's taking sometime, but when i test it out before i bondo i will take some pics....

wish me luck....
