Installed a new head unit...now ICY is displayed? I am in ARIZONA and it's 110 out!
Tried a search but every thread I found had the ICY feature for obvious reasons...well it is nowhere NEAR even under 90 degrees so I am guessing it's related to my head unit install? Any ideas?

It's pretty obvious you forgot to reconnect something when you pulled the dash apart.

There's nothing to clear. The computer is not getting a signal from the temperature sensor. It's not likely that the sensor just went bad. I'd bring it back and have them crack open the console and make sure all connectors are connected, tight, proper places, etc.
An additional hint - the ambient temperature sensor is connected through the Unified Meter & A/C controller. It's a little plastic box located behind the A/C control knob panel, right below the radio. Chances are pretty good that they've left something disconnected there. |
Thanks for the help..I am bringing it back in on Monday!

No that just means the car knows you have a kickin stereo in it. ICE is "In Car Entertainment", but since the only light the car has is ICY it just flashed that one as a way of saying "thanks for upgrading me, you're swell".
Take it as a compliment. |

What part of arizona, and which specific installer do others need to avoid?
there arent many connectors to disconnect when upgrading from stock/oem to aftermarket headunit (HU). IMO DIY because one bad experience does not deserve another. which yr z? maybe i could illustrate something or offer a link. |
same thing happened to me but after i did the DVD bypass it went back to normal
