avh-3200BT, rear speakers don't work now
 

2003 - Non Bose:

Installed the HU today, everything seems to work fine except for the rear speakers.

Couple questions:

1. In the HU setup menu, the "rear speaker" menu is grayed out*. Does this point to a setting issue on the HU or a wiring issue?

==> *If I have all sources turned off, the rear speaker menu is NOT grayed out and I can change the options (to Full or Subwoofer), but the rears won't work no matter what I set this to.

2. If this is a possibly a wiring issue, is this wiring diagram correct?:

Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Blue/Red
Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Black/White
Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Yellow/Red
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Red/White
Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Light Green/Red
Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Black/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Blue/Orange
Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): Black/Pink

I bought a wiring harness, and according to the install manual, the rear speakers are violet and violet/black, not the colors listed above. Can't remember what the fronts were offhand but they are working fine.


I've searched around so sorry if this is a repost, and thanks in advance for any help.

I just installed a Pioneer HU tonight and remember off the top of my head the fronts are white and the other front is grey. The backs are green and something else. Maybe that will help, maybe not... That was on the harness I had but should be the same for all Pioneers.

I wired my P3200DVD up according to the HU installation manual, and it works flawlessly. I was pleased.

From the P3200BT Installation manual:

Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Green
Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Green/Black
Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Violet
Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): Violet/Black

Thanks guys I think I got an issue w/ my rear speakers...they don't even work when I hook up the stock HU.
