Boss Audio

Has anyone used any the Boss Audio head units - they claim to have been in the business for the last 25 years? Thoughts? photos? anything would be helpful! Thanks

Like a BOSS.

Iono... I'd go for Alpine, Kenwood, or Pioneer; but that's just my opinion. Figure out if you want quality product as an investment or just something cheap to get the job done.

boss audio is junk!!! sold at the swap meet! dont waste your money, they will break and the mfg will not warrenty their product (even though they have a 1 year mfg warrenty).

Isn't this the brand you see at Kmart/Walmart?

Boss = crap.

sometimes its better to spend a little more on a HU

Look at options you want, and find what you need to accomplish that
*ipod hook up
*usb front
*navigation
*bluetooth
*pre-amp
*dvd player
*touch screen
*sat. radio

First know what options you want/need then buy!

Boss is a step above Bose witch is a step below Craig Audio.

Summary: It's all CRAP

Thanks! Im looking at one of the 3 now instead
*Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD
*Clarion VX401
*Kenwood DDX319

I want it to be able to have or do
*Sirius
*Navi upgrade
*bluetooth / iphone controls
*pre-amp or dual amp hook ups

I have the DDX-516 and have been very happy with it for the last 2 years.

If you want to cave some $, consider some other options for the accessories you mentioned. For example, instead of built-in nav, why not get a $100 Garmin and install it in the cubby? You can get a better unit for much less money, and the map upgrades will always be easier/cheaper. Second, if you have an iPhone, use the Sirius iPhone app instead of buying another subscription for the car. I've been doing this for a few years, and it works great, and you can take the Sirius anywhere with you. The main subscription is tied to my wife's Acura, and I only pay a few $ per month for online access, which is what the iPhone app needs. Finally, for bluetooth, I just keep a $50 headset in the console, and like the iPhone, it's not tied to the car so I can use it anywhere.
