Backup cam install questions

I am installing a backup cam utilizing a Magellan GPS as the screen.

#1. How do I remove the center console between the seats ?
( not the dash console )

As I would like to run the power wire for the camera.
Through a rocker switch mounted in the blank hole next to the heated seat switches. Thus allowing the camera to be turned on without the reverse light switch option.

#2. What is the best route to run the a power wire and video wire from the license plate light into the rear trunk compartment and into the drivers compartment ?

Thanks any help is appreciated.

Hey I set up similar to what you want except my switch is mounted on the left of the steering wheel. There are videos on YouTube showing how to remove the console. I ran my wires for video straight back to the sub-woofer space behind the drivers seat. In the back of the compartment are some holes that I used to snake the wires into the trunk. I cannot remember if just ran the wires under the spare or ran them with the other wires that run along the left side of the trunk under the panels on the sides. It is really not too hard of an install.

Why not just get a double DIN radio and connect a camera to that? I find that really easy to use and it turns on automatically when I put it in reverse. If you have to manually turn it on, you wont use after you get over it. The car isnt that big to go through the hassle.

But to answer your question on removing the center console:
-Pull up the shifter trim piece
-Remove 2 philips
-Remove cig lighter, 1 philips
-2 philips on the sides of the arm rest by the seats.

I think thats all you need. After that youll see some holes. In one of those I ran the wiring for my back up camera and under the spare tire. Works flawless.
