Radio Wiring Harness
 

I have a 2007 base and am planning on installing a Kenwood DPX501BT and am confused what type of wiring harness I should get. I have found several that look different. Scosche NN03RB, Metra 70-7553, Metra 70-7550, Metra 70-7551, Metra 80-7550.

Can anyone tell me which one is the right one? I'm hoping to plug the existing harness into a converted one and be done. I really don't want to splice all of the wires together.

Im using this one with my 03 with bose.
Works perfect.

The wiring adapter plugs into the two harness on the car, but you still need to splice the pigtails on the adapter to the wires on the harness coming out of the receiver. There is no way any manufacturer is going to make an adapter to match the numerous combinations of cars and headunits out there. You'll have to make maybe 12 to 15 splices, each of which should be made with crimp connectors or soldered and sealed with heatshrink tubing. Here's a pic of the adapter used on my '08 base car and a previous Kenwood I had:

The black plug on the left is what came with the headunit, the two white plugs towards are from the adapter. There may be a few unused wires on each.

The OP's base car will need a different adapter.

The stock radio I have has 3 plugs, 2 white and one brown/tan. The adapters only have 2 plugs. Do I need to cut the wires on the brown/tan plug and attach them directly to the radio harness? I attached a picture, but it looks like the brown/tan plug had as a orange/white, red/white and Yellow/green wires in it.

I don't remember if my '08 has 3, or not, but it should be the same as your '07, As I said, not all the wires are used, and I had no problems with the Metra harness and 2 different Kenwood head units.
