question about vented enclosure
Is it even possible to build a vented enclosure for a single 10 under the strut bar with mdf wood tune at like 33-36hz ?. The reason i'm asking this question is i have a single 10 inch jl audio 10w6v3 in a zenclosure witch is .75 cubic foot. And after hearing the sub in a 1 cubic foot vented enclosure tune at 33hz i was blown away how good it sound. So now i am stuck on wanting a vented enclosure for my sub and i would like to keep it under the strut bar if possible to save a little space.

sealed is wack As mentioned one of the downsides to ported designs is the space requirements. That is why I generally avoid them in car audio applications. However I run ported in my home audio setup. To the OP: if you expanded the box to occupy some of the area between the bulkhead and strut tower I'm sure it could be done. |
yea i don't mind giving up the space behind it as long as i get to keep the space in front of it. from what i have read i know jl audio ask for a .75 cubic foot box tune at 39hz but the box i was thinking about building if i can would be 1 cubic feet with the option to change out port's if need to like 39hz down to 35hz which ever sounds best. but if all worst comes to shove i'll do .75 cubic foot.
