Single W7 or two W6's

Hey Guys,

I'm still waiting for my Z to come in...going on 7 weeks but I'm trying to finalize what I want to do for my Sub set up.

I plan to get one of Nazar's enclosed boxed but I'm undecided if I want to go with a single JL 10" W7 or 2 W6's...

I definitly want some crisp hard hitting bass but I don't want the bass to overpower the actual music.

I had planned on doing the setup with the 2 W6's but I wanted some feedback as I'm nervous about "over-bassing" the car.

Nazer recommended a good amp for the setup so the subs won't be underpowered.

Thanks for any feedback

I recommend the 10W7 for 2 reasons. The first reason is that 10W7 hits like a 12" and the a lot depends on the amp you are going to get. I have the 500/1 and I am very, very pleased with the bass, it is the perfect amount and there is definelty enough ot if. I Haven't heard to 2 10W6's before in a Z but if you are only going to get the 500/1 I would stick with the 1 10W7, you will get lower bass. I had a 12W6V2 in my Maxima and I like the way this 10" sounds better.
One more thing, if you want more replies I would delete the other 2 identical threads. Hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback.

I have no idea why it made the other identical threads....took like 5 minutes to submit this post but I only posted it once.....

I tried to delete them but it says I don't have permissions so maybe I mod will. I will edit them.

I prefer W6 over a W7. My brother ran the same setup as nissan_fanatic. I ran 2 W6 powered by Xtant 3.1 to each. Mine was louder and hit harder than his. His definately moved more air though. He ended up blowing his W7 so borrowed a W6 for a few weeks while his 13W6v2 came in. It hit crazy hard. Feels like someone is pounding on your chest. With the W7, it was hard to breath because the pressure. It's hard to exhale when the sub is pushing so much air. Completly different sound and feeling. Go listen to a pair then make your descision.

stud46, who's that girl in your avatar? Just some hawaiian girl or someone famous?

I too would like a sub that punches me in my face whenever I put it at 50% power.

hehe, called me stud. That's Shin Mina. Korean model/singer. If you want that much bass, check out JL 13w6v2. Power that with an Xtant 6.1. You'll thank me later. The JL 13 duplicates bass really well. Sealed, it will hit 138 - 139 db. If you were to slot the box, holy crap. 150db easy.
