ive heard on this forum that in our car the BOSE blows.. well i have the non-Bose so mine must ever be even worse.. haha

and so here is where i need some advice.. what are the best sq component speakers that i should get just to run off of my headunit? i dont feel like messing with hooking up an amp to all 4 speakers i have no experience in that..

Nicely done I'm gonna have to make me one of those.

it really isn't too hard! do it! ...it probably ran me about $100 in supplies, and 6 hours of labor. plus you get experience. i was thinking of making a DIY but there is already one floating around that is very similar

nice thing about this box is how much cargo space is still left.. as you can see

looks awesome bro good work. Im gonna do one someday haha i would probably find some way to screw it up though.

adamtaylorpcb Jul 22, 2009 09:16 PM

i think thats the sound of DLS's going up for sale

350z-bra Jul 22, 2009 09:23 PM

haha yea i might as well buy his WHOLE system from him.. id love too.. but those speakers look sound soo complicated

Powering the speakers off of the head unit eh? Hmmm...

Polk Audio DB series components come to mind. They are efficient enough to run decently off of 20 or so watts RMS.

If you get a small 2-channel amp (because nobody does rear speakers...I mean REALLY!) that'll open up a ton of options for a much better set of components. Do it! You know you want to!

This sentence is kind of an oxymoron......

Anyway, I feel that getting some middle-of-the-road quality speakers, like the Diamond D661s set and a 50x2ch amp is better than spending a lot of money on components and running them off the integrated 'amp' inside of the Alpine headunit. Amps are not terribly difficult to install......it's the tuning that can get difficult ;)
