15" DC in 3.5 cubes tuned to 30hz
First time poster, had some struggles figuring out how to get some real lows out of such a small trunk space. No im not the biggest or best build here, but if anyone appreciates the setup I would love to share it. Its not pretty, has wood glue, caulking and fiberglass resin all over it, but its extremely strong and sized/tuned/placed perfectly. I coated the inside and outside with resin for water resistance, strength, and to make a smooth hard surface as opposed to MDF. Box is 3/4 MDF with right angles in corners.
Running a DC 15" level 3 on 1000w rms, box is 3.5 cubes gross 3.1 cubes net after displacements. Basically as big as I could have fit in there without going away from a rectangle shape, yes the spare tire and everything below is removed, including the bolts that attach it. Originally planning to run a slot port but I was able to save storage space with an offcenter 6" aeroport. Tuned to 30hz because im addicted to the low lows that you can hear from far off haha.
It was very difficult getting the 23" tube from the box to the front cabin, as I could not go too far into the box because of airflow restrictions, and had to angle it from the box under the strut bar and point it above the rear speaker shelf(without hitting the shelf). I basically cut a hole in the box and filed it to shape until I reached the angle I needed for the aeroport. Short strand fiberglass to attach it, sanded on outer side for cosmetics.
I will fiberglass the front now and sand it down, possibly paint it. The trunk is getting a hardwood shelf that surrounds the sub to clean it up and cover the amps/wires.
No spare tire or storage space but I get a massage chair so its still a win.

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the velocity stack thing. Air intake or sound direction? (Which surely doesn't make sense since low frequency sound is omnidirectional.)

Eh well I stuffed 305/30s into the back, why not a big box too? And to answer you the tube is the port for the box. Its 23" long so the only direction I could install it was forward facing and external, since there is not enough trunk room to make the box big enough to fit the port inside.
