The BEST sounding front stage i have ever built is looking for a new home...
hey guys,
due to the economic climate, i had to uninstall a set of front stage from a 350z that i did recently. The car was suppose to compete in sound quality competitions this year.
Total usage on the speakers is less than 10 hours, infact, they arent even broken in yet. Due to a few changes i did on these units, i can tell you for sure that this is the best sounding front stage i have ever built for a 350z.
so now they are looking for a new home...for someone who is truly looking for top notch sound quality in a 350z...
First are the speakers, its the top of the line stuff that i sell and run in my own car. Seas Lotus Reference 6.5" two way component set:
http://www.mobilesq.com/shop/product...roducts_id=163
along with components, the midbass are housed in custom built fiberglass kick panels, and the tweeters are housed in custom molded fiberglass A pillars.
both are direct fit to any 350z. and both are in 100 percent NEW condition.
I will fully warranty the speakers for one year as if new.
Now, compared other sets of kicks and a pillars i have built in the past for hte Z, these offer a few differences and are the ONLY ones i have ever built like this:
1. the kick panels are molded outward a bit versus just on the stock panel, this provides more airspace within and a more on axis angle.
2. the inside of the kicks received a extra dose of no hardening clay and sound proofing compared even with my other SQ install, this makes them completely dead and free of resonance.
3. the pillars are molded with the tweeters recessed further outward than any of my other pillars, this improves width and alittle, even though they are a pita to do like this.
basically, all told...i have full confidence that once installed, and properly powered and tuned, you could have one of hte best sounding 350zs out there...bar none you will want to have a active set up with a good dsp to properly utilize that. i do have a zapco DC reference 1000.4 that would go well with this set up if you are interested. but basically, a good dsp and 150 or more watts to the midbass, 75 or more wattts to the tweeter is recommended.
the pillars will fit any 350z coupe. not sure on convertible unless someone can confirm they have the same exact pillar cover. the kicks are recommended for an automatic, though i thik they may clear a clutch car as well, but need to make sure first.
below are the pics of the units and their build process.
this is over $2400 of stuff when part of the install...
asking $1500 shipped for everything.
initial mold of the kick panel, heavily reinforced wtih sound proofing
flush mounting ring baffle aimed and secured to kick back mold
mold cloth attached and formed to shape
resin applied, allowed to cure, reinforced from the inside with duraglass and chopstrand
hard to see but a heavy dosage of non hardening clay went on the inside (the black stuff in the interior walls)
followed by two layers of sound proofing
passenger side kick panel upholstered in black suede, speaker wired up:
passenger side speaker installed into kick panel
same goes for the driver side kick
both kicks done, ready to snap back into the car, grilles installed
initial mold of the A pillars:
after sanded smooth, they are wrapped in factory matching vinyl, and the tweeters wired up
tweeters installed back into the pillars ,ready to go back in.

still for sale. price lowered to $1400
i will add the option of throwing in a set of brand new Seas Lotus Performance set, the baby brother to the reference set:
http://www.mobilesq.com/shop/product...roducts_id=170
price would be $1200 shipped for everything.
i can also build a new set of kick panels for those with manual transmissions, to the same standard as this automatic version, and price would remain the same as before for either set of speakers

okay, the speakers have been sold.
so whats left are the molded A pillars and kick panels.
they are designed to fit the seas lotus reference 6.5" two way set, you can look at the specs here:
http://www.seas.no/index.php?option=...250&Itemid=235
and
http://www.seas.no/index.php?option=...251&Itemid=236
if your speaker is of similar dimensions then it will fit.
these were my pride and joy, really spent some effort on them.
pillars will fit ALL years 350z, kicks will fit any year automatic Z.
properly done with the rest of the system, these can improve your SQ dramatically.
$200 for A pillar
$350 for kicks
shipped
but prefer to sell both as a package : $450 shipped.
I spent over 20 hours on them, but just want them to find a good home

Before you change the speakers think about changing the head unit first. Factory fitted units can be OK but a normally terrible for sound plus you can be very limited with a factory unit as to what you can change or add.
