Default Hello From Perth

Not many posts from Australia yet but I daresay that will improve when the cars start arriving.

Mine is a Silverstone due in March. Trading in the S15. Only lost $5,000 on the 200sx in 2 years which I think is pretty good. Had more than my $5,000 worth of fun from it.

I believe that the 206kw is nudge nudge wink wink. There is a Japanese law relating to maximum kilowatts of 206. You will note that all Japanese performance cars list in Aussie as 206kw, even the Honda NSX. It seems pretty coincidental that they all end up at 206kw. I'm sure the 350Z is the same spec as the USA car, but would like to know for sure.

Had the dealer call me yesterday 2/1/03 regarding my order. He was confirming the order. The cars have NOT been ordered yet according the dealer as I quote "i'm ringing to confirm your order before it is placed"

Now I'm in the first shippment which is feb but now the shipment has been pushed back to mid march.

Anyone else heard anything

I take it "Silverstone" is what Nissan Australia call Platinum?
There is only one silver color for AUS , is that right or did I miss something?

Silverstone is the dark silver (metallic grey?) which Australia doesn't get. We get the "Chrome Silver". I think he meant Platinum = CS

I was the first to put an order down - as I've got a letter from Nissan saying so (back in June)..and they promised me December 2002 delivery..then February 20 GUARANTEED they said...now they're telling others the first shipment won't be till March???

I'm pissed off.

Anyway.. I'm getting the 6spd le mans track.. wondering whether
I should change it to the 5spd semi as I do a lot of city driving..and since they've not been ordered yet (if that is true) it shouldn't be an issue..maybe

getting back to delivery date issue, I made my dealer check his allocation when I ordered, and was told they get 2 early feb (mine is 1 of them) then 2 in mid feb. Really hope it turns out this way, because the wait is killing me!!!

Umm. Sorry to burst your bubble. But it is very rare to see a stock S15. Well in Sydney anyway.

Mild mods on a S15 will eat, chew and spit out the Z

no bubble to burst. everyone knows a boosted s15 will tan most cars. My point was more about a stock setup, and a 0-100 time for both cars. Guess we'll wait an see.

The S15 is about 300kgs lighter I think with 147kw. I have a feeling they will be about the same.

Personally I think the Z is style where the S15 is a lovely car but still considered a boy racer car.

If I was going to buy another turbo'd car it would be the S15 but they are starting to go missing just like the wrx
