Default Alarm & Security

What is everyone doing in regards to security?

Are you going to rely on the factory immobiliser or are you going to the after market alarm systems?

I haven't seen anywhere that the Z is reported as an easy mark as far as theft goes but I'd hate for it to become another WRX joy riders special.

Personally I'll be using a monitored alarm system like I do on my current car. You may find some insurers insist on it.

I've had the "Stinger" Alarm system installed, had it in previous cars. May look into a tracking GPS system in the future.

I just installed a Viper 790XV, but did NOT install the remote start since I think this defeats one of the best security pieces in the car : the ignition/key chip.

I still have my QuikTrak system from my WRX so probably use that but upgrade it to be incorporated with the factory alarm. ie: one remote not 2

I have the same system on my car! That's the best!!! But somehow the paging monitor sucks a lot of battery power though! need to replace it nearly once a month! Also I found out that the paging range isn't that far.... well... I don't really park my car far away from me anyway! hehehe

cheers,

richie
