Who's going to Mid-Ohio in JULY with NASA?

I've just signed up for the July 7-9 event (using my snow-day credit). I've asked for a garage, which I'll be looking to share with one or two other folks.

So who's going?

bokone May 15, 2006 11:40 AM

I'm signed up, but they didn't wow me with the amount of track time at the April event

commasense May 15, 2006 11:58 AM

Have you been to other other NASA events? Was it less than those? How much time per day did you get? Did they provide the amount scheduled?

racerbob4 May 15, 2006 12:48 PM

what class does a T-2 350Z fit into with NASA? what does it take to qualify for the NASA Mid-Ohio runoffs? how many races or how many points.

commasense May 15, 2006 12:53 PM

Sorry, I'm just running HPDE. You'll have to go to the NASA Web site, or wait for another racer to come along, for that answer.

Hey Bob - go here http://performancetouring.com/calculator.php to answer your question. They go by points based on the type of prep you've done. However, if you say you don't have cams and you do, no good way to police it.

I ran through the tool quickly and it looks like a T2 Z would be in PTB...but don't hold me to it.

See you guys soon!
J

You going to be there in July, Jason?

merlot350Z May 15, 2006 03:06 PM

thanks Jason. Will you be at Nelson Ledges for the national? Rob finally has the new motor in so we are anxious to see how that does. Nelson should be a good trackl for the Z. Its hard to believe but its the fastest track in the northeast division. I just did the calculator and also came up with PTB.

The new NASA format is different now. Better structure.

We did have some problems with car blowing up and leaving oil everywhere, other going off track and bringing plenty of mud on the line. The cleaning up made some sessions shorter, but these things happens.

Hmmmm... I may be able to take a trip. Will keep this date earmarked on my calendar.

bokone May 16, 2006 10:51 AM

The NASA track time was about 80 min. per day. I just signed up for the Chin Motorsports Memorial Day weekend. I am just doing the Monday (too much time away from work) but the amount of on track is supposed to be MUCH more. It is $289+$50 membership for the one day. The "advertised" format lists 3 hours of track time per day. I had just 4 hours with a 3 day NASA event!!

Sorry, would love to see you guys again, but I have a race at IRP that weekend. You kids have fun though! :)

Hey Bob - I don't think I'm going to make Nelson...but we'll see. Planning on MidOhio the first week in June. Rob told me about the motor. I'm anxious for you ;) Looks like Scotty found some speed in his out on the west coast. Planning on VIR still...will see you there OR at the Runoffs.

Chin runs a great event, and if you stick around long enough in the day, you may be party to when they combine run groups and run an hour long session. Great group - well organized.

It's official. I'm signed up and have hotel reservations and everything.

I also have a garage, and cheapskate that I am, I'd like to share it with at least one other person. Anyone interested?

Kolia Jun 21, 2006 04:07 AM

Have you found a garage-mate yet ?

My Z was pissed at me last week-end, making angry eyes and pointing at the stack of lightly used of RA1 in the garage...

I think she wants to go and play...

John Jun 21, 2006 05:06 AM

I'm still on the fence... would like to hit Mid-Ohio one more time before I move though...

commasense Jun 21, 2006 08:40 AM

No garage mate yet. I can take either or both of you.

So, John, is it definite? Going out to the left coast? If so, you HAVE to come to Mid-Ohio with us! I insist!

Kolia: If you need someone to take some RA-1s off you hands, just let me know! :D

Kolia Jun 22, 2006 03:27 AM

Hey Commasense, what kind of rig do you have?

In other words, how much tools should I bring?

John Jun 22, 2006 04:31 AM

OK, I think I'm going to go... will sign up tomorrow.
