I'll be running carbotech's XP10 Front XP8 Rear this Thursday on my 05 standard brakes, I'll let you know how it goes (although forecast is rain so don't know how much I'll be heating them up)

The 350Z only has two brake setups, Brembo and non-Brembo. The non-Brembo brakes are the same on all models, i.e. base = enthusiast = touring.

I changed out my fronts almost a year ago with EBC "Red stuff" brake pads & love them. They've held up well through a track day & multiple country road trips. They're made out of a compound that is kevlar/ceramic based. I highly recommend googling them. They have very low brake dust.

Forget EBC, go with a good real track pad like Raybestos or Hawk pads..

[QUOTE=terrasmak;8372436]Your going to need 2 new stub axles, your base ones are the tapered ones like mine were. In the next couple days i'll post more info , mine are in process of being machined to fit. QUOTE]

I was told for the base the OS giken is a bolt in on the 2006 from Z1. You're saying otherwise?

AznSky- where did you pick up your carbotechs from?

I used EBC Yellows (I think these were supposed to be better than Red) - They barely lasted one track day - and it was a small 1.5 mile - top speeds about 100. Using oem non-brembo 06 calipers.

I'd vote for the Carbotech's too. I used Xp8's front/rear for two track days and had some meat left.

Oakos has them, or can get them. oakos.com - they are a vendor here.

btw - I have some 06 calipers that haven't hit the marketplace yet...

For track only pads I can personally recommend the Carbotechs as well.

XP12's up front and XP10's in the rear. You can Call Carbotech directly and they will ship the brakes to your house.

I have wilwood BP20 material in the front and XP10 material in the back and I can't complain.l I may go with a more aggressive front material since I was getting some vibrations at the end of the session.

I use Ferodo DS3000, was using the 2500's which were good but the 3000's are better.

http://www.raceshopper.com/ferodo_brake_pads.shtml

not a bad bite from cold but once there is some heat in them they start reacting very well, when the car was fast road use i tried EBC products, didnt think they were too bad but not on the same level.

yeah you can order directly from carbotech ctbrakes.com

HOWEVER! As a warning, carbotech screwed up my and my friends order. Sent us both the wrong pads (we ordered separately). Luckly I was able to get a set of correct carbotech parts or else I would have been pissed. Plus they're giving me a full refund so they're customer service is good, but just make sure they send you the right parts lol.

Plus you can get NASA or SCCA discount through them. But they still are pricey pads. I only plan to run these through and prolly get a bbk next since the pads themselves are expensive.

As for other vendors, Oakos or Forged both sell carbotech's. A friend with a 370 actually said Forged was cheaper than directly from ct.

Carbotech makes a great compound, but in truth they just aren't the same since MaddMatt left.

Thats correct , good read https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...-pull-out.html and they told me it was a direct bolt in too.

Porterfield Brakes will custom cut brake pads for the base 350Z brakes from any pad material they sell. I've run Hawk DTC70 pads on my base 350Z brakes.

I have Porterfield cut some Raybestos ST41 and ST43 calipers special for my non-Brembo (rears). They actually last a few events: sales@porterfield-brakes.com

I am in the midst of upgrading to Brembo rears, so have a bunch of non-Brembo rear pads (street and track) if you'd like to try some for cheap. You also need to consider the rear rotors a consumable, and just bite the bullet. At least they're cheap.

I've heard that the Girodisc Magic pads and the Racing Brake ET500 are both good on the non-brembo Z
