Well, there is no/very limited supply of gas in Atlanta (and the SE overall). You can find regular sporadically, BUT NO DAYUM PREMIUM!

BTW: There is plenty of Diesel!

This was ok for awhile as I drove my old regular gas truck to work/etc...But this coming weekend I have a track day @ CMP...2 days worth!

Will regular gas and Octane booster work?

If so, what Octane Booster is recommended?

That sounds like a bad idea and a big headache waiting to happen. No way would I chance my car on a lower grade gasoline and booster. I doubt the mixture would equal what upi need it to as far as octane. Just look around and you can find some premium. I do since mine is a DD.

Do they not sell higher octane fuel at the track?


I guess we are kind of spoiled here in the south central US. I can buy 104 octane at a local gas station.

If it comes down to it, you could buy some at a small airport.

You might be able to get away with this as a last resort for daily driving, but you are talking about going on a track and pushing your car hard. You run the risk of detonation and blowing your motor. not worth IMO.

you can find a place where they sell high octane race gas (make sure to get unleaded if you have cats and\or dont wanna kill ur o2 sensors) and mix 5/8 tank regular gas with the rest 100-104, and you'll end up with around 93 octane

i think mapquest has a gas station search in which you can search for race gas

Add toluene..... That's all race gas is. Gas + tolune. It's not too expensive and you should be able to get it easilly. You will find recipes on the internet for race gas. You should be able to get a couple gallons at a hardware store. F1 race cars use 84% toluene.

If you don't mind the lead then head over to the airport with a fuel jug and get 100LL. but it's got a ton of lead in it.

I used to use this stuff in my supercharged Trans Am. I ran my stock LS1 engine at 12psi with no detonation issues for 75K miles including thousands of track miles. I used to swear by it. Haven't used it in a few years but I assume it is the same stuff. One can per tank of gas.
