6 350Z's entered for Runoffs
As of today we have 6 350Z's entered in T2 for the Heartland Park Runoffs in early October.
|
Awesome, are the Solstice cars still running the same power as last year???
|
They have a restrictor on them but from what ive seen this year it hasnt slowed them down. Last years champion is also entered.
|
when will you guys be at VIR again?
|
I was hoping to go to VIR for the Grand Am race and help Sasha with his new 350Z but thats the first week of the runoffs. I think we will be out there for 12 or 13 dyas counting travel and testing days. Take a week off Bill and come out and help. One of the Nissan guys is going to cook chili for us, Kumho will host a dinner and beer party, and maybe Honda will do something as well. Then there are the worker/driver parties for several nights will decent food and beer. Bob

I might be willing/able to take some time off and come help too if needed - I'd love to scope stuff out as I'm trying to decide where to race my Z next year.

as much as that sounds like a great time, and as much as i am sure i would learn being out there.....we finally just bit the bullet on a car ourselves. Not a T2 car so I don't have to worry about the Hine's boys making me look stupid. Its a SPO or possibly a GTA/GT-1 car. All of our spare funds are going to seat time until double driving school in Jan. Best of luck, however!!! |
Those fiberglas bodied V8 cars look like a lot of fun. A long time friend of mine, Ron Farris, has one and he is enjoying his second life. They arent that expensive to run as bodies and parts are reasonable. In the Southeast division there is all the competition you could ask for. Most of the guys are willing to help you with problem or parts or whatever. Farris lives in southern Virginia but im not sure what city but if you look at some previous VIR races you will find his name and city, tell him I said for you to call him. He might also be able to point you to a car that is in your budget. Good luck on the drivers school and i'm sure you will do just fine. Find out what size and type of tire they are using, maybe I can point you to some take-offs. Bob

i will be looking for any kind of help i can get. I will certainly look up Ron, thanks for the advice. We already bought the car, should be here sometime this week so I hope. Just so happens to be coming with an enclosed air conditioned trailer as well. But the car is coming with a few 16x13 and 16x14 sets of wheels and some old tires. Not sure what tire I have to run yet but might as well start looking for options. |
I've seen T2 350z's for sale (and increasing in numbers) in SCCA mag. I've always been tempted to pick one up.
