Any concerns with running a CAI/JWT Pop while doing HPDE/Time Trials?

My favorite "performance" mod (besides additional track time) on my previous cars, E30 M3, E46, was an intake. It's amazing how it made the exhaust sound.

I would like to do the same on my Z. It only sees the streets on nice days but is more or less for HPDE duty throughout the year.

Any concerns with the lump running too lean? I was planning on picking up one of the JWTs (or something similar) and running an Evo-R or Titek front duct.

I would like the meaner sound, and as long as it doesn't reduce power or put added strain on the engnier, I'm all for it.

My other thought is to just buy a damn exhaust, so I could go either way.

A simple y-back exhaust would fit your bill perfectly. Great sound, no reliability issues. :)

I'll let others comment on CAI. I personally don't like the sound and looking at the straight intake on the Z, a straighter intake won't do much more.

no problems at all , full exhaust headeds back , Kinetic V+ , and pop charger without tune and many track events in the vegas heat.
