Screw BSP, let's create CSP

Check out the April Fasttrack

Based on feedback received from the membership the SPAC feels that it is time for an additional Street Prepared class to
be added to the category. This class will fit “between” the current CSP and BSP classes by creating a new class designated
G Street Prepared and re-lettering other classes. Cars currently classed in FSP will be moved to GSP, cars classed in DSP
moved to FSP, and most cars classed in CSP moved to DSP. This will leave a “new” CSP to be filled with popular 2 and 4
seat sports cars and sports sedans such as the BMW E36 M3, Nissan 350Z, Honda S2000, Chevy Corvette (C4), Audi TT
and other cars of similar drive train configurations and/or performance potential. The proposed changes are as follows:

Whoa.

Was the GT-R already classed in BSP?

christoc Mar 21, 2011 01:33 PM

GT-R to BSP as well?? wow

03threefiftyz Mar 21, 2011 01:37 PM

It would be moved with us, though. Not sure I'm crazy about that, but it is a heavy, wide thing. 600awhp in street prepared trim?

Possible overdog at Pro's?

christoc Mar 21, 2011 01:39 PM

Nope, the proposal is to move it to BSP for 2012. Would be part of the AWDSP ;)

christoc Mar 21, 2011 01:40 PM

For 2012 Move from ASP to BSP:
Mazda
RX-7 (1993-95) (Turbo)
Nissan
GT-R (R35)

03threefiftyz Mar 21, 2011 01:41 PM

Gotcha.

christoc Mar 21, 2011 01:42 PM

370z would stay in BSP though, from what I can gather.

Guilty1s Mar 21, 2011 05:17 PM

I say that is good news. I really hope to see more Zs out there now. I think it is finally appropriatly classed.

I love this move! It makes much more sense than 350z to ESP in my opinion. The new CSP should be a very wide open, competitive class. 350z should be very competitive along with the C4 vettes, RX8, E36 M3, and S2K. The Sky, Solstice, GT-R, RX7 TT, and Mazdaspeed Miatas are left to chase the EVOs in BSP. I would be pissed if I was a 370z owner though. They finally get classed to leave ASP, and now they get stuck in a very tough BSP class.

Write your letters into the SEB in support!

Its a good move by the SPAC. They also finally classified the 370Z in SP.

Shamu Mar 22, 2011 10:57 AM

Clearly no SCCA love for 370Z as it gets stuck in BSP. Guess its not a "popular" two seater?

Oh well BSP is better than ASP. LOL!

Oh wait they didnt mention 370Z Nismo? Huh???? DOes that mean I'm still ASP????

03threefiftyz Mar 22, 2011 11:10 AM

I'd say so. I don't think the 370z should be added to the "new" csp unless the Z33 and Z34 go on the same line. My .02.

And Im sure I'm getting unbiased opinion on a primarily 350Z owner board. LOL! Honestly If I can get the Nismo clarified as BSP I'll be happy as a clam.

Z1NONLY Mar 22, 2011 01:09 PM

I was hoping for ESP, but this new CSP looks pretty good.

PDX_Racer Mar 22, 2011 07:44 PM

I can't say that I'm disappointed with this classing, since the SPAC finally have realized that mixing unlimited boost AWD with any other car means that only unlimited boost AWD cars will show up.

I am excited for those of you who run SP!
