it’s just just eBay URAS style drop vent bonded in to the stock hood.

Nice work as always. Congrats on the result! I find stickers are good, but need a few heat cycles to come on. That probably set you back.

Yeah review of the data showed the used tires were faster.

Well. I’m back. My analytics show that people still read this thread and check my videos so thank you! If you haven’t please subscribe to my YouTube channel. I don’t always like making videos but they have at least been a source of revenue for racing. It’s been a long run. With the never ending arms race in Time Attack in North America I debated dropping a class and competing in Street Mod with Gridlife and Speedring in 2019.

but then Gridlife announced a Touring car series. The rules intrigued me. All of the introductory wheel to wheel series in my home province are either gentlemen’s open passing lapping sessions or glorified bracket racing for laps. Neither appeal to me at all.

The gridlife rules look to be an outright sprint where pace wins. Mind you my Nissan Z will be at a power to weight disadvantage to a well sorted Honda it’s a lot closer than I am used to dealing with.

ive also been invited to pilot a separate HR powered 350Z in American Endurance Racing. So I’m moving up in the world.

i really don’t know what I’m doing. I have very little wheel to wheel experience and no race license yet, but I would qualify for one with a course. But similar to 2012, convinced of my own blistering skills (true or not) I will forge ahead and take the path unknown.
I am striving for a power of 240-250 whp and a weight of 2910 to 2970 on track at the end of the race.

I may be piloting this HR in endurance racing in 2019.

It’s nice that you share this content. I am beginning to track my 350Z more frequently and I like having your shared experience as a reference to many of the characteristics, issues, and other traits I am discovering for myself with these cars.

Hey Mike, I've been following your car and youtube channel for quite a while now and I'm happy that I found this thread.
It's nice to see that you make the absolute best out of your budget and built a total beast of a Z racecar.
You gave me quite a bit of inspiration for my track built.
It's sad that the car will get detuned, but the fact that I'll see a proper Z (in a what seems to be a great wheel to wheel series) with a driver who knows how to drive and make his car go fast will totally make up for it.
Although gridlife has great media coverage I hope to see more videos from you as I always enjoyed your channel and your kind of humor.
I wish you the best of luck and hope to see some great wheel to wheel battles.

Thanks for the update.

Just curious when you say the leaky valve cover gaskets are a "common cause of failure" did you mean that they just commonly leak, or something else? Mine are super leaky and ive been procrastinating. For like 4 years lol.

They leak and cause detonation over time which eventually leads to failures of important components.
