i thought the feathering was only fixed with adj a-arm due to no factory adj? yes inside of the tire. a/t was a hard call, i do alot of cruzing with my wife and she likes to drink coffee and hold my hand while we drive. lol. i am cool with it. i know that the vette guys can do the track stuff with an a/t trans cooler is 50/50 some cars will not complain some do. was thinking a cooler for the z. i have driven both the 6mt and 5a/t and for the few events i would attend i felt the a/t could handle the task with a cooler and deep pan. not a pro driver. just some fun. for a full 10/10ths car i will gut and cage the vette. the z is to nice as of now to hang it out there. also i see a lot of aftermarket support for the z too. thanks J

Its apparent that you are new to a Z.Just as many members in this forum know little about vettes. The tire feathering problem was common in 03-04 Z's
The problem was fixed with late O4 cars(04.5).There was a reacall.Dealers
adjusted the front alignment/used shims to correct this problem.Tires were replaced(no charge).I personally went through 3 sets of fronts on my 03 before I could find a dealer that could fix the problem. That was before 25k on my car.I now have 81k.No problem whatsoever of any tire problem.
I'd think your 06 would not have an alignment problem. Are you running OEM tires(Bridgestones)? These tend to get very noisy when there is just a bit of
cupping on the edges.Bottom line, not aware that the suspension component is necessary to solve the feathering problem.
On the 5AT car,this forum has a negative on AT cars.I have a AT.Ironi
cally,I have a wife that drives the car.A AT is just more suitable. However,
having owned the car for 10 years,I've installed mods including some tweaks
that provide faster &crisper shifts.

Feathering is just an alignment problem , nothing more. Camber arms are nice to have, if you track and autocross the Z you will want a bit more neg camber than stock. There is no front camber adjustment without an aftermarket arm.

While a 5AT is normally not preferred, I've driven one and the Nissan automatic transmission is actually not too bad -- it will hold the selected gear pretty well.

Make sure that your alignment is correct (the stock suspension and alignment is actually pretty competitive).

will go to alignment shop this weekend. tires are not oem. "federal" was on the side wall. i did test drive an 07 with gy f1's and it drove good. thats the car that started the z thing for me. lol. looking to replace wheels and tires by end of year and wanted as much rubber as i can fit under it. 315/35/17 was under the vette and looked good, dont think i will get that wide under the z but would like to get close.
