350z vs FR-S Track Times?
Okay so my cousin is telling me that the FRS will out run a Z on a road course. Unfortunately I cant find anything that says "stock" on the car that ran a 8'26 at the burg so he's saying it doesnt say stock, thus he says it doesnt count.
Does anyone have any "official" records where it actually says stock and the numbers? In what world does a FR-S out run a Z at anything. Oh yeah, the above Z was a 2003 LOL, so the DE motor. I have an 07 too so I's love to find numbers for those. |
Wait Wut?

Would love to see, but, the Z is in a different league.

Im looking for some proof of what a stock 350z ran at nuremburg, for solid proof. Ive searched every where but the only official times I can find dont mention the word "stock" so my cousin is saying that it could be tuned or have something done.
Too long didnt read? Which is faster on the same courses, 350z any year, or the FRS |
So is that the real question? Stock vs stock? Also have to be year specific because of the difference between 2003-2005, 2006, and 2007-2008.

who cares - neither of you broke ho's are transporting your cars to the nurburgring.
350z any year > frs, though if the track doesn't have many straights I could see the frs hanging with it, no problem. it's a solid handling platform but will get walked anytime you get to put the loud pedal down. |

Power to weight ratio.
Nuff said. And no, the FR-S does not win that battle |
FR-S great on small cone racing 2nd gear so is the Mazda mx5
Both of these cars get owned on bigger tracks 3rd gear and up. |
I think the FR-S is the US version of a GT86 or BRZ right?
I would say the ring is a course weighted towards the 350Z as it has quite a few long straights. On twistier tracks I think the FR-S could surprise the Z. The FR-S is designed more for handling than outright power, and the 350Z is a bit weighty in standard form. |
