Stock Steering wheel with harness?
Usually the opposite gets asked and it turns into a safety debate. But what about using the stock steering wheel with a harness?
My Kirk rollbar is on its way. I already have the seat, 6 point harness, and a hans device. I completely forgot about the wheel.

The racing harness will not be a problem, but any time you are in a situation where both an airbag and helmet are being used concurrently, there is a chance the airbag could deploy and cause injury. Why? The explosive airbag could impact in the jaw section of a full face helmet and slam the helmet into your face. If you want to avoid this, simply deactivate and remove the airbag from your OEM steering wheel.

I agree. And let's not forget to mention any unintentional deployment of the airbag due to an off track incident. An airbag deploying unexpectedly could turn a situation from controlled to totalled.

Thanks for the input. That got me thinking. I bought a resistor for when I replace the OEM seat. I believe its to keep the airbag light off and the system functional.
Sounds like I could just unplug the seat resistor when I go to the track and it should disable the airbags right?
I got carried away and bought to much stuff so I'm putting a quick release and a new wheel on hold haha
