thread revival!
Im trying to install the steering wheel radio controls into my 03 touring.
i got the 06+ clock spring part number 25567-z33003 from courtesy, and they sent me part number 25567-et025. I was under the impression that with the 06+ clock spring i would be able to have the illuminated controls, and the dimmer feature also. The new clock spring is missing a plug, which causes my slip and VDC light to come on. The new clock spring has plugs for the light/ wiper levers, air bag, and horn. The cruise buttons work with the new clock spring just no illumination and the issue with the VDC. Ive also seen that some people have used part number 25567-cd026 and have had the same the same issue with the missing plug. Does anyone have the part number to an 06+ clock spring that have successfully gotten the illumination on the cruise and audio controls to work on earlier models and with the extra plug?

Hello, Took off my steering wheel on my Nissan 350z 2003-2004 I noticed that i only had ONE(1) cable to my airbag. I have read that everyone has two cables.

So i only put in a 2 ohm resistor. Do anyone know if it is 2 ohm on the one cable airbag?

=)

Big thanks to GT-3 , this thread help me figure out how to replace my wheel but getting all the wiring and controls to work was a pain in the A$$ but worth it.

To guvars, I used my stock 04 clockspring as our year model will be missing a ground pin. I repined the (370z audio controls) harness and tap the (-) Illumination to ground inside the steering wheel harness.

25. Wire and then program the PAC Audio SWI-X per its instructions for Nissan. Use the diagram above to guide your wiring. The program version should be set to 3. I ended up selecting the area behind the shifter to store the unit. This way I can easily get to it to reprogram it if I have to.
Where exactly are you connecting the 3 added wires? Does this setup light the steering wheel controls? Is the, later mentioned, 4th wire (dimmer) necessary for lights?

Thanks a mil

I had all the lighting swapped to white, and the airbag will be done being reupholstered in black alcantara w red stitch by tomorrow.

Also picked up a Joycon adapter to route these controls to an adroid tablet for audio control.

looks like oit threw my slip and TCS light, even though I am not missing a plug, does anyone here still have information on fixing up the following:
05 car w TCS and NOT VDC
06 clock spring
06 steering wheel controls
needs to use cruise audio control and lighting.. would like to retain the dimmer, but if impossible, so be it.

I do still have my 05 clock spring in case its necessary to revert back and re pin.

Slip and TCS light could be because of the steering angle sensor, Might need re-calibration.

Audio control and lighting should still work fine with the 05 spiral cable if you do the needed wiring correctly.

I really hope the airbag / horn I have on this steering wheel I had just bought doesn't have an internal ground problem.. I spent quite a bit of coin having it reupholstered lol

Ill check into the clock spring reset issue.. sounds logical and easy to fix. Hadn't wired anything up yet, but the fact the horn didn't work along w the lights had me worried a bit.

Guys I am so sorry to rehash what has already been covered in bits and pieces here already, but i can't seem to gather the information I need completely w my research has here. :

I have a 2005 w no vdc.. Means my clockspring plug situation is simple...

I have 2006 illuminated steering wheel controls..

I have purchased a 2006 clock spring spiral cable assembly..

I have the radio shack connector pins listed here as well.. What I don't understand is what three pins (and specific location on the car side plug) that I need to add to my 2005 car side plug in order to power up my illuminated controls, ground the audio control, and run audio controls out.. Which is which.. Which location, and what direction should the plug be read in whatever diagram you've (potentially) replied with? (plug side, harness side etc.. Like the fsm)

Guys.. Really hoping for a thread reply here.. Again I have an 06 steering wheel w audio controls.. An 06 clock spring cable.. And a 2005 vehicle.. The cruise control works as is.. But I can't figure out what wires to add to the car side of the clock spring plug to allow the dimmable illumination and audio control wiring... Can someone please assist? I've been here for a decade.. Hoping to get a bit of insight here, would really appreciate it, as I'm totally stuck.

Hey brian, i believe the car already comes prewired for that. All you have to do is add the steering wheel controls. I dunno how pre 06 z works but this was the case on my base 07.

I do appreciate the pics. But for an 05,there are less wires.. And I need to know what they actually need in terms of voltage too.. Hoping to get a reply from one of the guys who's done the swaps into 05 and older..
