A slightly different issue I'm having guys.

I tried to remove the arm last weekend but I couldn't get the arm off of the balljoint end, I tried tapping it with a deadblow hammer but it wouldn't budge a bit.

So just to double check the process.
Remove cotter pin from balljoint outer end, then remove the nut.
Remove the bolt/nut holding the suspension & sway droplink.
Hold a piece of wood underneath the arm, knock it with a hammer until it free's itself from the balljoint thread. (take care not to smash into brake lines etc).
Then undo and remove the inner bolt/nut.

Is that about right ?

Yes is the answer to that !
The mistake I made before was to remove the inner bolt, this time when it was left in, the ball joint end just popped out with a light tap.

Prothane inner bushing out, freely moving SPL in - and WOWZA what a massive difference already !!!
Just waiting for the compression rod SPL bushings now.

Glad everything worked out for you RobPhobos

So i bought the whiteline bushings for the passenger and driver LCA. What are you and others using as a press adapter to get the bushings in/out? The local autozone joint kit didn't have anything that would fit the whiteline metal sleeve. It's about 1.45 inches diameter. I went to home depot and the 1.25" metal pipes were too small, and the 1.5" were too big.

Ok, after rereading the first post which was a bit hard since all the pics are gone, I finally understand what sensei JasonZ-YA is saying. The reason for my confusion is that i didn't know there was a metal sleeve that went around the bushing. I thought the whiteline bushing out of the box went into the LCA

i am trying to remove the whole LCA and struggling with the inner bolt. Ball joint bolt is off, shock mount bolt is off and tie rod end is off. i PB blasted the inner on the threads and sucker is on HELLA tight. put my hydrolic jack while i had a 19 socket wrench on it and used the jack to press the wrench up (to loosen it) and it even bent my wrench.

You really need an impact gun for that one. They're on there REALLY good.

Ok so I got a solid metal piece to push out my stock bushings. I didn't quite do the perfect job on the first bushing, and i scrapped the side a little. How do I smooth this out so that the whiteline bushing won't have any problems? Sandpaper? File? Dremel?

I'd just file down any roughness, it's what SPL recommend doing if there's anything in there.

ok so the drivers LCA came out just fine. The passenger side LCA won't come off the ball joint. All the bolts are off but the joint is moving freely with the LCA.

Troubleshooting:
1. Put inner bolt back in
2. Put a jack under the ball joint, jack up
3. Rubber mallet from the underneath to hit up the LCA (didnt work)
4. Put jack on LCA under the shock strut, jack up alot. (Still didnt work)

I used PB blaster won't hurt might help. Still not avail

edit:
Oh **** i just read to do the following will try it and report back
1. Inner bolt in
2. Jack up LCA under shock bushing
3. Use rubber mallet to hit the ball joint axel DOWN

ok, so no idea how much the above helped, probably alot, but in addition my roommate said to hit the LCA hard with the rubber mallet a few times on the left and on the right, and then hit it from the bottom. Did this and it came right off! It wasn't on a jack but the inner bolt was in.

Hey guys, my Whiteline Lower Inner Bushings finally failed. Probably started failing last year, but I didn't bother to really check it out until today.

I will be replacing this bushing with Nismo bushings.

I replaced my SPL compression rod bushings with a high quality OEM replacement and couldn't be happier.

It was my understanding that both the whiteline and SPL compression bushings were better then OEM and Nismo.

What exactly is your 'hq OEM replacement' over the SPL?

did u get it off? i'm in the same boat as you except on the driver side. the passenger side came off but driver side is stuck at the ball joint. there is a tool for this that i might get if it comes down to it.

also when i took off the inner bolt from the LCA on driver side..the inner part of the bushing just fell out of the hole. the metal on my LCA is worn down pretty dang bad. i'll upload a few pics tomorrow of how bad it is.

yeah man i said how in the next post. The same rubber mallet i was using, instead of just hitting from the bottom going up, i hit a hard the left and right sides a few times. Not many, like 5. After that it came right off when I hit from the bottom again going up.

Man I finally got the LCA off the ball joint. it was easy once i figured a way. I had to put a wrench just below the cone of the ball joint and hammer upwards on the wrench. made a pop and it flew off.

the hard part for me now is getting the knuckle off and compression rod off.

For the compression rod once you get the nuts off don't bother handing it, use a prybar. Comes right off

ok so i have the 1.500 inch pressing tube and it fits perfectly to my whiteline shock and inner bushings. The problem I am having is getting the bushing perfectly aligned to the lca in the balljoint press. It gets pretty close, but it's always off by just a smidge. I don't want to press it if it isnt perfect for obvious reasons.

How did the rest of you align the bushings?
