Hey guys, so I recently learned about the Brake Master Cylinder flex and the Z1 Motorsports brace to alleviate it and help with brake pedal feel, but holy hell is it expensive for a piece of metal and a few bolts.

Has anyone managed to DIY this before? It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to do for a much lower price.

What Trav said, if you can find someone to design and build you one for less than $130 then I'm all ears... if you can design one yourself in a cheap/free CAD software, a 3d print might hold up to the heat/force required, but even then you'll be looking at ~$70 bucks for a high density print from a commercial printing service (plus hardware). On that note, the closest I could find to the hardware Z1 uses is a 'hex head thumb nut', which might work but is not sold in metric (I'm guessing the shock stud is m10x1.25 but I have no idea)

Side note: The Z1 unit works great, relatively easy to install, provides immediately noticeable difference in pedal stiffness. Only downside is that the specialized nuts that threads on to the shock studs can be temperamental to line up if you're changing shocks.
