When to change pads? (they're squeeling now)

up to 17k miles and they will squeel kinda when I slow down, so Is it time to get them changed? Did'nt notice any performance drop yet but dont wanna wait that long!

pull the wheels off and check the height of the pad. if they're low, replace them immediately or you'll damage your rotors. if they're not low, check your rotors to see if you see any scoring on them. pull the pads and make sure nothing is embedded in the lining (the friction material).

Ok thanks I'llcheck it straight away!

And do yourself a favor. Get some Hawk HPS pads. They will last longer than stop, have better feel, are cheaper, and have LESS DUST!

I just took my stocks off at 10,000 miles and put the Hawks on. Couldn't be happier.

Hawk HPS perform worse than stock IMO. Less dust means less friction I guess

Hawks squeek too much for some.
Get AKEBONO. Last twice as long as the OEM ceramics and no sqeeking!

i am starting to have the same problem with my brake pads, i think i might go with AKEBONO
