Tein Basics: How low can you go?
Hi, I've done a few searches with varying results. Just wondering how low is the max drop on the Tein Basics, most importantly the rear. The sooner I can get a confrimed answer the better.

On the front i went recommended drop. On the rear the recommended drop is 0.8 inch, but i went all the way down. So far no problems. Check my past posts and you'll find a pic w/ a review.

ravi,
i'm running the flex. i ignored what the recommended drop was and went with first how low before the muffler or front bumper would start scrapping. then went with does it look good. before i had my front lip i went as low as tucking the front tires and left a one finger gap on the rears. never really measured. then i got the frt lip and had to raise the car about half inch in front. all i can say is trial and error on how low cause the recommend drop looks too high for me. even my current settings is too high for me. here's a close up pic: http://www.hostdub.com/albums/nismo33/z33_side.jpg |
oh yeah when you slam the car just check tread wear on the inside of the tires like once a month, especially the back. when they get wornout and to get every bit of life of them, have it switched left to right.

Yeah, the seller flaked on my, so I'm gonna end up with the flex or the HKS's. I'll see depending on how much I have on on me ;)

Ok so I ended up getting some basics. I want to modify the rear to get about a 1.5" drop in back.
I've been told to do two things, dont know if I need to do both: 1) Cut bumpstops (i already cut them in half from my old spring install) 2) Remove one of the adjusting plates in the rear. I want to make sure I install the setup with no errors b/c I didnt get the instructions with mine (used set). As far as ride height goes, do you think I could get to my desired height in the back with slamming the rear with the modified bump stops? Thanks guys, can't seem to get any confirmations from anyone about the effective ride height in rear with these modifications. I'd much rather use cut bumpstops than removing an adjusting plate (if its even possible could someone explain what this means)? ravi |
