Pleae help, question for lowered Z's
 

Alright I've had a lowered Z on TEin S-tech springs for a year and half. I went through my first set of toyos due to the inside wearing down at an alarming rate while the outside was almost 50% tread. Now I had a new set of all 4 tires put on and an alignment done. Howveer not even 750 miles later my wheels are tilted inward and resting primarily on the inside of the tire. This is causing high speed highway driving to be somewhat shaky and not the way I know it should be. I'm somewhat of a novice to the camber and toe lingo so I'm not even going to try and guess what my problem is but I want to make sure that a camber kit is in fact what I need and do i need fron and back? On the first set of tires the front went first if thats any indication. Help would be appreciated. I've read a bunch of threads on this and honestly I just get more confused hearing thsoe words thrown around all over the place. Thanks for the help I appreciate it greatly. Just a guy looking to save money on tires and get his car back to a good ride.

rotate your tire will double the life of the tire. on camber set up ur lucky to get 11k-13k on a set with rotation

If the suspension is lowered, you may have to find a suspension specialist that knows what the hell he is doing, instead of simply reading numbers out of a manual. A pro will “tweak” the suspension to your needs. Generally, alignment is for handling, not tire wear.

Oh well handling isnt really a issue that i can tell its just on the highway the car is practically shaking since its riding so uneven. I'm sure therehas to be people out there that lowered there cars and are getting good tire life and a good close to stock ride comfort. I just cant believe after 750 miles I have to rotate my tires.

Get the camber arms/eccentric toe bolt kit at www.iapdirect.com Then take your car to a good alignment guy-preferrably somebody well known in dealing with lowered cars, and have him install the kit and align. How much do those springs drop? If its 1.5" or less, you should be able to get very close to, if not back within stock specs with that kit. Spend a few hundred now, save a on tires later.

Cool thanks for the info. I notice most of the kits are just for the rear do i not need to worry about the front or whats the deal with that? My Z is only lowered an inch.

There is no camber adjustment for the front suspension stock. And to be honest most aftermarket control arms can only get you around .5 degree more + so its not really worth it. My front tires with -2.3 degrees camber lasted 25K miles. In that time I went through 4 sets in the rear with varying degrees of camber. Im lowered about 1.5" and Im sitting on -2.1 now in the rear, they will wear slightly faster than stock but tires will last me much longer than before I adjusted it(-4.2 :icon11: ) With only a 1" drop a good mechanic should be able to get your car aligned or almost to spec with the minimal adjustment for camber and toe in the rear. You could just try a good alignement guy before ordering parts.

im thinkin about going with the eibach springs but i dont know anything about cambers and stuff i hear that anything over .3 drop will need a camber kit
im hoping for a 245/35/19 275/35/19 setup is that ok?

Well I did get what is considered a good one from one of the most competent places around here but they tld me a camber kit wouldnt be a bad idea. So basically I'm looking at less wear on the rear witht he camber kit and looking for a real good front and rear alignment to get me started?

Every car is different. Some places can get the rear alignment back into spec with the Eibach drop, others cant. You have 2 choices. You can drop it, and take it to a good alignment guy and see what he can do. IMO, if your 2 degrees negative camber or less with good toe in the rear you will be fine-like my car-it doesnt necessarily have to be back into stock camber/toe specs. Or option 2-buy the camber arm/toe bolt kit from the webiste above and you will be ok if you take it to a decent shop. Up to you....

IceBurnzTT-If you did go to a good place and they couldnt get you close to spec, then get the kit mentioned above. A 1" drop shouldnt be a problem for them with the kit.

ICeBurnzTT do you have a profile pics of your car how low it is. I am getting the same spring install this week & will have my alignment done after the springs settled.
