Is Nissan's warning about VDC equiped vehicles true?
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...62_64_full.jpg
Is this note actually true or is it just nissan BS way of trying to get more money from you. Lets say you have a VDC touring model and decide to put aftermarket Volks. Will you VDC not work due to your new lightened rims??? What if you have Eibach springs and Volk wheels with no sway bars? Does your car slip out of control or loose straightline power because your car always thinks something is unbalanced? Thanks |
you can do anything you want with the suspension etc...
as long as the tire diameters are relitive to stock size.... ie: 245/40/18 / 275/40/18 245/35/19 / 275/35/19 265/35/18 / 295/35/18 etc etc |

If you do the 255/40/17 up front, you should run 275/35/18 in the rear...
you want around .6" difference in diameter depending on overall size that is... in this case... the above is what you want... |
oo do you think the RS concept has 265 rear for better turn in perhaps?

you can do 275 on the front no problem... |
im talking about the nismo RS concept S1 the one with the canard nissan bumper and the v1 wing and the infamous rear diff oil cooler
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....smo+concept+RS |
im not 100% familar with that car, but I believe that has 18x9.5 LMGT4's all around w/ 275/35/18 all around... that will effect VDC...
we do 275/35/18 Front / 275/40/18 Rear like this... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...yCivicLive.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...CFshowGood.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uff/CFshow.jpg |
So any increase must be proportional to front and rear. So +20 in width on front should be also +20 in rear tire?
Now what happens if you have nismo suspension and rims but no sway bar? Does that really affect anything? |
as long as you have the correct ratio between front and rear you can have any size...
you can do any part of the suspension seperately... suspension and wheels only... or wheels and sways only... etc etc... the only thing that that matters is that the tire size is slightly larger in the rear (overall diameter) then the front... |
Technically, the computer must see the staggered difference, but in all reality its on a per car basis. I run 265/35/18 on all for corners and my VDC/TCS functions as normal. No problems at all.
|
Have you guys actually experienced VDC difficulties running non-stagger?
I've run non-stagger for close to 3 years and I've had ZERO VDC issues. Regardless of tire make/size (same size all round), VDC has worked like a charm - especially during the winter with snow/ice covered roads... In fact our local Infiniti dealership sells non-stagger winter wheel/tire packages for G35 with VDC... |

The RS Concept uses 17x9.5 front, 18x10.5 rear with 255/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear, but in an R compound (A048)
